The Executive Team

Hatim Ennaceur, VP Programs

Hatim is a Bachelor of Commerce, majoring in Accountancy. He is a member of the Institute for Co-operative Education. He has previously worked as an Immigration Officer for the Quebec Government.

Shuang Song, VP Finance

Shuang has a Bachelors Degree in Finance and is currently a MBA candidate specialized in investment management from Goodman Institute, JMSB. She has previously worked as a market analyst.

Sofia Del Rio, President

Sofia has a Bachelors degree in Marketing and is currently doing her MBA. She has worked mainly in the marketing and education sectors.

Uma Doma, Web Specialist 

Uma has a Bachelors Degree in Electronics and Communication Engineering and is currently pursuing MBA from JMSB. She has previously worked as a software development specialist with TCS and SAP.

The Instructors

Elena Baraboi

Elena Baraboi is a student of Concordia in Translation. Since studying is her permanent work now, she decided to make a living out of her hobby-teaching. Elena has been teaching for seven years now never getting tired of learning from students as well. She likes grammar as much as conversation, and intends to have funny, interactive classes full of new words and activities.

The JMSB French Coach's History

Dedicated to bolster the students' and the school's competitive advantage in the business world The JMSB French Club was founded in June 2006 by Mr. Kristian Julien, GDIA/MBA student, in order to offer fellow JMSB students some exposure to the French language in a predominantly Anglophone academic environment. JMSB students had access to the Club’s activities, including classes and events, on a membership basis, hence the name of the organization. In March 2007, the Club hosted a speaker event featuring Mrs. Isabelle Hudon, Board of Trade of Metropolitan Montreal President. Even though Montreal suffered a numbing snow storm that morning, the event was a success, both in terms of attendance and participation.

In May 2007, Mrs. Lisa Potter took on the role of President. Ms. Sofia Del Rio and Ms. Caroline Lavergne, two MBA candidates who were on-board the French Club since January 2007, respectively took on the roles of Head Programs Coordinator and VP Marketing and Communications. Mr. Abhijeet Nandy, another MBA candidate, accepted the role of VP Finance in July 2007.

First executive team

The new executive team decided to focus on the Club’s core competency, the French classes. Mr Lionel Taravella, the Club’s “instructor-in-chief” since June 2006, helped the new team streamline the Club’s activities: what JMSB students lacked was a space to adapt and improve their language skills in a professional environment. The French Club would therefore look to fill this gap as a professional development program to complement to the JMSB curriculum and career development services. The Club, now the JMSB French Coach, is now building strong relations with JMSB faculty members and staff, and intends to continue working closely with the JMSB Career Management Services.
